In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp. Serve immediately.

I doubled this recipe this morning, used 2 cup white flour and 2 cup whole wheat. Added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. So so good! I think the flavor would have been a touch sweeter if I'd added an extra tablespoon of sugar, though.
