- 1.5 lbs. ground beef
- 1 egg
- 3/4 C oats
- 3/4 C onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 C. mozzarella, shredded
- Mozzarella slices
Mix ground beef, egg, oats, onion, salt, oregano, and pepper. Add 1/2 cup tomato sauce amd mix. Flatten meat mixture into a rectangle on waxed paper. Place shredded mozzarella on top of meat mixture, but not too close to the edges. Roll into a loaf and seal tightly to prevent melted cheese from escaping while baking. Discard waxed paper. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Remove meat loaf from oven. Pour remaining tomato sauce on top of meat loaf and place mozzarella slices on top. Bake and additional 15 minutes.
